| The
British Formula Ford Championship sampler day
Silverstone, 2
December 2008
For those of you
new to the concept – the British Formula Ford Championship will
have an exclusive booking of the National Circuit at
Silverstone. There will be a full day of testing, in sessions,
which also includes the Formula 3 prize drive for the winner of
the British Formula Ford Championship 2008.
British Formula
Ford teams will be set up in the Silverstone garages, with their
Formula Ford Duratec cars, and potential competitors for 2009 will
be able to test the cars and meet the teams.
If you’re serious
about your career in racing and think you’ve got what it
takes, why not come along for the day?
All drivers who
would like to take part (aged 16 and over) are to contact
championship co-ordinator Penny
Mattocks
with a brief racing CV (1 page only) in addition to the completed
Sampler Day Registration Form. Download here in PDF
or Word.
This form will also ask how you plan to budget for your 2009
racing season. You do not need to hold a current ARDS racing
licence to take part in the Sampler Day – a kart licence is
sufficient.
Penny will forward
all these completed Registration Forms on to current teams as an
introduction, to give the teams an opportunity to contact
prospective test drivers for the day, and discuss their budget and
training programme.
The Sampler Day
will also include a training seminar and body analysis
tests, as well as be supported by our full BFFC Race Centre
with refreshments, shelter and information through the day.
All drivers need to
have Pre-Registered with Penny Mattocks before coming to
Silverstone Circuit. This will enable drivers to be included in
the Signing-on list. Pre-Registration essential.
Competitors from
2008 season need not Pre-Register, but please advise who is
coming, to help with planning for the day.
Signing-on is
from 07:00 Tuesday 2nd December.
All under-18s are
to have parent or guardian present who are to also countersign and
complete a declaration from Silverstone Circuit.
All novice drivers
(those who have not driven a single seater before – regardless
of extensive kart experience) to have signed on by 0800 in order
to attend assessment on 2nd December, prior to taking part on the
National Circuit.
All drivers taking
part in the day will need to take out insurance cover for the
event. Other than this, costs for the event are covered by the
British Formula Ford Championship.
This is YOUR day
to explore possibilities for the British Formula Ford
Championship for 2009.
