MACLEOD IMPRESSES ON F3 TEST DEBUT

11 October, 2007: British Formula Ford Champion Callum MacLeod has earned the praise of the Ultimate Motorsport Formula 3 team following a two-day test for the squad.

Nineteen-year-old MacLeod impressed Ultimate engineer Andy Richardson: "Callum's ability in the car was there for all to see during this test. He has the talent of car control and a great understanding despite this being his first experience of an F3 car.

"His feedback and comments were very, very good - in fact, he is probably one of the best drivers I have dealt with at doing that - and that reflects on what he has achieved in Formula Ford.

"During his test he was involved in developing the Mygale car further and so he did not set a competitive lap time. We tried to take the car somewhere new and he helped tremendously, with his feedback, in that process."

The test, at the Pembrey circuit, was offered as a prize for the highest-placed Mygale driver in British Formula Ford, one which MacLeod secured easily thanks to his 14 wins in the Ford-backed championship. Another of MacLeod's prizes for winning the BFFC is a free entry and registration for British F3 in 2008.

MacLeod's next outing is at Brands Hatch next week (19-21 Oct) where he starts as pre-event favourite for the Formula Ford Festival.
