CAMMISH GETS F3
TEST SURPRISE
8 November 2010:
Dan Cammish, third-place finisher in the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford
Championship of Great Britain, has scooped an unexpected bonus for
his hard work at the wheel - a Formula 3 test.
Cammish will join
championship runner-up Scott Malvern at Rockingham next week (18
Nov) for the F3 prize tests, which will take place during Formula
Ford's annual Sampler Day at the Northants circuit. Dan will take
the place of champion Scott Pye, who has other commitments in his
native Australia.
Malvern and Cammish
will drive F3 cars prepared by Motul Team West-Tec, and Dan is
delighted with his good fortune: "It's a bit of a shame for
Scott that he can't do it. I was really surprised - but really
happy - to get the call, and now I can't wait. My Formula Ford
season was up and down and to miss out on being in the top two
left me gutted, so this is great for me."
F3 is very much
where Cammish wants to be in 2011. "I am talking to a lot of
people," he added, "and getting the right people around
me. I don't think I'll be racing in Britain, but possibly in the
F3 Open or German F3, that sort of area."
Dan won two rounds
of the championship, at Zandvoort and Donington Park, for the JTR
team on his way to third overall; he was the Formula Ford
Scholarship class champion in 2009 with Kevin Mills Racing.
The Rockingham
Sampler Day provides, in addition to the F3 tests, the opportunity
for prospective Formula Ford competitors from across Europe to try
the different chassis and teams on offer for the coming season.
The sampler day is open to all drivers aged 16 and holding an ARDS
or a kart licence. Prospective participants must register in
advance with the championship co-ordinator, Penny
Mattocks
